Many people don’t know this, but you have a choice in terms of firmness. The harder you want your mattress, the firmer it’ll be. On the other hand, if you prefer a softer mattress, then your choice will work in your favour accordingly. Here’s some help in deciding what’s best:

i) You’re A Back Sleeper –

If this is you, then you might want to choose something that’s medium-firm to firm. It’ll help to align your spine and prevent any back pain.

ii) You’re A Side Sleeper –

If you sleep on your side, then you should pick a soft mattress. Your body will thank you in the morning because you won’t have soreness due to bad alignment.

iii) You’re A Stomach Sleeper –

By far, the softest option is what’s best for you. It’ll contour to your body and give support where it’s needed most.


There are many different sizes, but you can generally choose from one of three. Twin, full, queen and king are what you’ll likely come across, and each will work best in certain situations. 

For example;

i) Twin –

This is a good option if you’re a college student or if it’s just you sleeping on the mattress. There’s plenty of room for you to move around and get comfortable.

ii) Full –

If a twin mattress isn’t big enough for your needs, then this is an alternative. It’ll give you more wiggle room than ever before, with added space for storage at the foot of the bed or underneath it.

iii) Queen –

This is another excellent option if you have a lot of space. It’s affordable and spacious, which is why it’s so well-loved.

iv) King –

The king size can be a bit more costly than the other options, but it’s worth the price for you to get the most out of your mattress. You’ll have plenty of room to move around and sleep comfortably on it.

As you can see, mattresses are versatile, and the main thing to consider here is your personal preferences and needs. Knowing what kind you’re looking for is enough to get you a good mattress.
